Kyndryl has announced
a global strategic alliance with Databricks, aimed at helping enterprises modernize their data platforms and scale artificial intelligence across business operations. The partnership brings together Kyndryl’s enterprise-grade IT services and consulting expertise with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, creating a joint approach to data-driven transformation.
The collaboration is centered on helping organizations modernize their legacy infrastructure, improve data quality, and implement AI capabilities in a cost-efficient and scalable way. Kyndryl will offer end-to-end services across data foundation setup, AI enablement, legacy integration, and SAP data unification, core elements that are often complex for large enterprises to manage independently.
“Kyndryl’s global partnership with Databricks further expands its global alliance ecosystem, which, combined with its end-to-end data, AI and modernization services, will continue to support customers’ digital transformations and enable AI at scale,” said Giovanni Carraro, Senior Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances at Kyndryl.
“Under the partnership, Kyndryl will also leverage its data expertise and assets like the Kyndryl Data and AI Console and Generative AI Navigator to drive data modernization and AI adoption at scale for its joint customers.”
A key focus of the partnership is industry-specific modernization. Kyndryl is targeting sectors where legacy systems and fragmented data architectures have traditionally slowed digital transformation efforts. Initial joint efforts will prioritize manufacturing, utilities, retail, travel, and transportation, industries where integrating OT, ERP, and cloud data environments can unlock new insights and efficiencies.
“Under the partnership, Kyndryl is applying its expert modernization and data services, including making its Data Transformation Suite available to accelerate customers’ adoption of the Databricks platform and generate insights to inform business decisions,” Carraro added.
“Together, Kyndryl and Databricks are initially focused on customers in the manufacturing, utilities, retail, travel and transportation sectors.”
Kyndryl also plans to scale the adoption of Databricks through a global delivery model supported by its team of data experts. This includes dedicated service offerings that help customers transition from traditional data environments to unified platforms powered by Databricks.
“Kyndryl’s skilled experts bring their comprehensive data modernization and migration services to each customer as they guide them on their digital transformation journey,” Carraro said. “Now, with its global partnership with Databricks, the two companies can further support customers in accelerating and achieving their modernization goals.”
The Kyndryl-Databricks partnership is built to meet customers wherever they are in their data journey, whether that means modernizing legacy systems or scaling AI-driven use cases across machine learning, NLP, and computer vision. By bridging enterprise systems, siloed data, and next-gen AI capabilities, the partnership aims to simplify complex architectures, eliminate fragmentation, and lay the groundwork for continuous innovation.
